Chef For The Day is back!

CHEF-FOR-THE-DAY


What's it like to work in a restaurant kitchen? That question can be answered with Sotto Sopra Restaurant's Chef-for-the-Day Program under the tutelage of Executive Chef Riccardo Bosio.

If Executive Chef Riccardo Bosio of Sotto Sopra has been asked once, he has been asked a hundred times about life in a restaurant kitchen by clientele, many of whom are talented home cooks. Proof of this fascination can be found in the success of television's reality kitchen programming: Top Chef, Hell's Kitchen and The Food Network’s Chopped.

Chef Bosio has brought back his own chef reality program at Sotto Sopra Restaurant with Chef-for-the-Day allowing a patron to come work in the restaurant kitchen for a full day. Chef-for-the-Day starts early, is expected to be on their feet all day, maneuver narrow stairwells, work through evening service and will wrap their day in the kitchen with dinner      

Prior to coming into Sotto Sopra's kitchen, Chef Bosio assesses the Chef-for-the-Day's skill level and also offers up an additional challenge of creating a menu promoting them as the Chef-for-the-Day at the restaurant.  

Previous Chefs-for-the-Day have invited friends and family in that evening to partake of the multi-course pre-fix menu that they have prepared.  Sotto Sopra help promote you as Chef-for-the-Day on the blog and in their e-newsletter. Cost for this once in a lifetime experience is $100 – available for direct purchase or as a gift certificate for Chef-for-the-Day.

Sotto Sopra's Holiday Opera Night Special - Sunday December 18th

On Sunday, December 18th Sotto Sopra has planned a special evening for you. Enjoy a taste of our Northern Italian cuisine from our ala carte menu along with live Opera Performances throughout the evening for a mere $10 cover charge per guest.

We are accepting open reservations for dinner and the show from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. For too many years to mention, Sotto Sopra' has been the venue for our successful, well attended monthly Opera Night along with a five course dinner but on this night, you can order off the menu. If you have never attended we hope you will sample the experience on this very special evening. The restaurant is decorated for the holidays, its warm, cozy and oh so tasty.

Join us on Sunday, October 16th for our gala 15th Anniversary of our Opera Nights – evenings filled with your favorite arias and mouth watering Italian cuisine. On this Opera Night, as a celebration of 15th years, we are welcoming back Kathleen Stapleton, the soprano who performed the first Opera Night and many Opera Nights thereafter.  Joining Kathleen, by special arrangement is Diane Abel, whose operatic renditions of your favorite songs and duets entertained so many of you. Last, but far from least, is our current soprano, the versatile Karen Myers Rhodovi who amazes all our guests with her stratospheric high notes.

Opposing the exquisite singing of these 3 soprano stalwarts will be our long running tenor, Paul McIlvaine, whose musical tones have been heard at Sotto Sopra’s Opera Nights for the past 15 years.
Hear all four voices as the evening opens with the resounding voices of La Traviata.

Our incomparable accompanist, Thomas Hetrick, will “tickle the ivories” to complement the vocalizing that tell the stories of loves, lives and sacrifice.

 Each guest will receive a free CD as a remembrance of the Opera Night 15th Anniversary
